We are excited that you are interested in visiting Austria! Please, let us tell you a little bit about our beautiful country and what you will need to know when it comes to visiting and renting a car here.
Austria is located in Central Europe and contains most of the mountains known as the Eastern Alps. The Danube river travels through the country, and right through the heart of the capital city of Vienna. Nearly 40 percent of Austria is covered in forests, while other areas feature snow capped mountains and even glaciers. Visitors are often captivated by the natural beauty of the country, along with the Gothic and Baroque architecture of its cities.
What do I need to rent a car in Austria?
Renting a car in Austria is simple, but there are a few requirements that must be met.
- You must be 20 years old with at least 1 year of driving experience
- You must have a valid driver's license Type B
- You must have a valid passport/ID
Can you deliver the car to my hotel in Vienna?
Yes. The delivery or drop off of the vehicle at any address within Vienna or Vienna Airport are included in the price.
What is included in the price by the default?
The price includes: delivery and drop off of the vehicle at any address within Vienna or Vienna Airport, toll sticker for Austrian highways (Vignette), emission sticker for Germany (Umweltplakette), GPS navigation system, 24/7 support, additional driver, CDW insurance with maximum clients liability of 330-900 euro depending on the type of the vehicle.
Do I receive the exact same car I have booked?
Yes, you receive the exact same model of the car you have booked on the website.
What is the minimum allowed age of the driver?
The leaser should be over the age of 20 and have held the drivers license of category B for at least one year. Provisional or learner driver's licenses are not accepted
How big is the security deposit?
The security deposit vary between 330-900 euro depending on the car model.
How fast I will receive my deposit back if I bring the car without any new damage or violations?
Essentially we release the security deposit amount right after the inspection of the car at the end of the rental. In most of the cases the deposit is returned within 2-10 business days, but in some cases in might take up to 30 days. If the exterior condition of the vehicle doesn’t allow it to be inspected on the new damages during drop off the deposit amount will be returned after the car gets to the cleaning station under condition no new damages are detected.
Do you have a fee for an additional driver?
No, we don’t have a fee for an additional driver. All drivers must be listed in the rental agreement.
How do I pay?
The payment is done upon the delivery of the vehicle. The payment can be done by cash, debit or credit card. If you wish to make an upfront payment please contact us at info@bronxrentals.at
Do we take a prepayment to confirm the reservation?
A 10% prepayment is required for all bookings made for the months of July and August.
What is the cancellation policy?
For all bookings made without prepayment, you have the option to cancel your reservation for free up to 24 hours before the rental period begins. For all bookings made with a prepayment, in the event of a booking cancellation made 30 days or more prior to the rental start date, a full refund of the pre-payment amount will be issued. For cancellations made less than 30 days before the start date, no refunds will be granted, irrespective of the reason for cancellation, however we are delighted to inform you that in the event of future rentals with us, should the rental start date fall within 365 days from the date of cancellation, we will credit the pre-payment amount towards your reservation.
Can I modify my reservation?
Yes, you can modify your reservation on request before the start of the rental. We don’t charge any fees for the reservation modification.
Does the price includes taxes?
Yes, all prices on the website does include VAT.
How about toll roads in Austria? Does the car has a toll sticker “Vignette” for Austria?
Yes, the Vignette for Austrian highways is included in the price. The Austrian vignette is valid on all Austrian highways, with the exception of road sections with separate payment which are: A9 Pyhrn motorway Gleinalm and Bosrucktunnel, A 10 Tauern motorway Tauern and Katschberg Tunnel, A11 Karawanken motorway, A13 Brenner motorway, S16 Arlberg expressway.
Is there a mileage limit?
For all reservations up to 2 days there is a mileage limit of 250 kilometers per day. For every exceeded kilometer the customer pays 0.20 Euro per 1 Kilometer. For all rentals from 3 to 30 days there is no mileage limit except commercial rentals.
What is the fuel policy?
We operate under Full to Full policy. The vehicle is given with a full tank and should be returned with a full tank. Upon vehicle return, if fuel tank is not full, the customer pays the market price for the amount of missing fuel + 20%VAT.
Can I rent a car for one day?
The minimum rental period is 2 days. You can rent a car for a single day, however the total amount will be calculated for two days anyway.
Can you deliver the car to another city?
Essentially the delivery to another city is possible on request for an additional delivery fee. Please send your inquiry to info@bronxrentals.at
Do I need a toll sticker “Vignette” if I enter the highway outside of Austria?
Yes, you must buy a highway toll sticker (Vignette) before you enter a highway of an according county. Feel free to pre-order a vignette on our website. You can find more information about toll roads in our article
Can I keep the car for a couple more days?
Any modifications after the start of the rental are done only on request depending on availability. If you wish to prolong your rental please send a request to our representative.
Can I order a baby seat or a booster?
Yes, we can provide you with a baby seat at the price of 25 euro for the whole rental period. You can choose between a child seat Group 0/1 suitable for babies between 0-13 kilograms and a baby seat Group 0/1/2 for children between 0-25 kilograms. The child booster Group 2/3 (15-36 kg) can be provided for free. Make sure you pre-order it in advance. If you order the car of Class E,F,G then the baby seat comes for free.
What do I do in case of an accident?
You have to immediately contact the local police and fill out the car accident report. Our representative will be in touch with you and will help you to fill out the report. The car accident report must be presented to the lessor within 24 hours after the accident happened.
What do I do if I receive a traffic report?
The leaser is fully responsible for any traffic report, fine, violation, parking fees, etc. occurred during the rental period and is obligated to pay for the report within specified deadline. We don’t have any fees for processing the traffic reports.
Will you keep a car for me if my flight gets delayed?
Yes, absolutely. We will track your flight and make sure you will get the car according to arrival time even if your flight gets delayed.
What are your working hours?
For the reservation inquiries you can approach us during working hours between 8:00-22:00.
Do I need to clean the car before returning it?
It is not necessary to clean or wash the car before returning it. For the immediate deposit release we recommend to keep the exterior of the car as clean as possible, so our representative could inspect the car on any new damages right away during the drop off. In case of excessive contamination of the interior (for example spots of food or drinks on a lining of cabin, any kind of stains) the leaser is obliged to pay the professional cleaning at a rate of 150 Euro.
Is it allowed to smoke in the car?
Smoking in the rental car is strictly prohibited. The penalty for smoking in the rental car is 200 euro.
Car I return the car earlier?
Yes, you can return the vehicle earlier. Please contact your personal representative in advance regarding any changes regarding your rental. We do not refund the unused rental period or equipment.
Can you deliver the car late in the evening?
Yes, we operate 24/7. The delivery or drop off between midnight and 7:00 costs 40 euro additionally to the rental amount.
I have purchased insurance with another company. Do I still have to leave a security deposit?
Any third-party insurance policy obtained outside of our website bronxrentals.at is not related to BRONX Rentals. The leaser is obligated to pay the security deposit amount according to the chosen insurance package on our website. In case of an accident the leaser is liable for the damage according to our insurance policy. You can claim compensation from the third-party company from which you purchased the insurance policy.
What type of fuel should I put in the vehicle?
Information on fuel will be provided to you during handing over of the vehicle. In addition, the fuel type will be mentioned under the tank flap and in the vehicle manufacturer's guide that you will find in the glove box.
